Saudi Arabia

I lived in Jeddah in 1977-9. Whilst there were some drawbacks to living there, on balance I enjoyed it. All the photographs here were taken in the southwest corner of the country, just north of the border with Yemen, really to confound the usual idea that Saudi Arabia is comprised entirely of sand - the south west is, in regional terms, quite well watered.

Spectacular mountain and valley views are numerous in this area of the country.
A water reservoir, which also generates a little electricity, just outside the town of Abha.
A small village, typical of many in the area, whose people live mainly off agriculture.
